Mack | IFAC Portraits

I just love this little boy. Mack is absolutely adorable! I have known his mommy since we were... um, how old are you in 5th grade? Anyway, Mack was my first Images for a Cure portrait mini-session and we had a blast playing at the park. All of his cute little expressions were priceless! Here are some of my favorites from the session.

Race for the Cure 2009

This year I had the distinguished honor of being one of the official photographers for the Komen Charlotte Race for the Cure in Charlotte, NC. Each photographer was assigned to a certain area and mine were the actual race and the survivor ceremony. This event was especially important to me because it's the first race since my own mother's breast cancer diagnosis. She was able to attend and even walked the race with me! The Komen Charlotte race had over 14,000 participants and raised over $1.3M. It was quite an event to be a part of. Here are some of my favorite shots from the day, including one of me and my mom!

I Like Starbucks VIA

Img_1216

I really like coffee. ??I mean REALLY. ??I am also very picky about the quality of the coffee that I drink. ??Forget Maxwell House or the crap they use in the office coffee pots. ??Yuck! ??My absolute favorite is Starbucks Cafe Verona. ??Most of the time I grind??the beans??and brew a pot each morning at home. ??However, one day I was rushed and remembered that I had a sample of Starbucks VIA in my wallet that the barista gave me on a recent trip to SB. ??I was pleasantly surprised! ??It's not my verona, but it's not bad either. ??I think I'll be keeping some of that on hand in case of emergencies... and there are coffee emergencies!

Bird Attack

Img_1258

I did not see it happen, but I know that my car was decently clean on my way to drop my son off at preschool... it was even raining, so I had the wipers going. In the five minutes it took to take him inside, birds dive-bombed my car. ??I've never had such a huge dropping at one time on my vehicle AND in such a short amount of time. ??It's like they targeted me. ??I'm hoping that the rain they've forecasted for the next 2 days washes some of this crap (pun intended) off.

Suburban Graffiti

Img_1255

Working in one of the most influential areas of a big city, I rarely see any 'unusual' behavior. It's very busy, yet clean and outside of the occasional parking deck collapse (two in the past 2 years), it's pretty quiet. ??Yesterday, as I was walking across the street to the high-end mall for lunch, I saw this written on the cross walk sign. ??It says "I <3 my mom and dad". ??If my son grows up and decides to vandalize public property, I just hope he chooses to write something like that!

Mason & Abby

Mason and Abby are a super brother-sister duo! Allyson and I had so much fun hanging out with them. Mason's eyes are just magical (as evident in the portrait preview of this session)! And Abby's beautiful, thick hair reminds me of my own when I was younger. Here are some of my favorites from this session.
