Owen and Elliott | Child Portraits

Owen and Elliott were an absolute pleasure to photograph. These boys were so happy during the entire session, it made my job so much fun! Owen is three and loves to talk; he kept telling me all kinds of cute little stories. Elliott is one of the happiest 11 month olds I've seen and gave me more smiles than I could have ever asked for. These are some of my favorites, though there were so many more.
These spiffy blue shoes have a great story. Owen's mom got them for him in Africa before he was ever born, in hopes that one day she might have a little boy. Now that he's three, he can finally fit into them and has worn them all the time. I asked him to show me his shoes and how cute is the response I got!
Owen and Elliott's grandma knitted the entire family these cute matching socks. We just had to get some photos of them!

Don't laugh.?? I'm new to the world of Mac, so I've got to try this at least once!

High School Reunion

Mphs

I hated high school. ??The only thing about it that I did like was singing in the choir. ??I was extremely shy and introverted (still am somewhat). ??Because of this, I was not popular and usually misunderstood and an easy target for insult. ??I did have a group of close friends that I still love dearly and have kept in touch with over the years. ??So I'm wondering why I felt the need to attend my high school reunion. ??None of those close friends were there. ??Maybe it was because I didn't want to feel regret for not going... it's a rite of passage, isn't it? Or maybe it was because my once kinky, curly, unmanageable hair is now beautifully straight and I wanted the people that once taunted me to see that. ??No matter the reason, I learned after the fact that those were very silly reasons to spend $90 to drink two glasses of wine in a bar with naked women on the walls. ??Oh well. ??I love my life now and this, like so many other things, is just another experience that I'm glad I had. ??

The Resolve | A Special Project

I worked on a project a couple months ago that required me to do a photo shoot of a sweet little boy named Alex. I can't divulge many details about the project yet, but I wanted to post some of photos I took for it. I know one thing for sure, there are some amazingly talented people in Charlotte and I am privileged to be able to work with them.

My Little Spider | Personal Story

My little boy is two years old, so Halloween was especially fun this year. I dressed him up as the Itsy Bitsy Spider and he made the cutest little spider I have ever seen! Of course, once he realized that he could pull the costume off by ripping the velcro on the front, he would no longer keep it on. I did manage to capture a few shots of all the cuteness before the velcro discovery (and before the rain started).

Myrtle Beach | Personal Story

Recently I took a trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with a large group of women from my church. We all had a great time and I was able to take a few picture while we were there. We stayed near the end of the famous strip, but there were very few people there... it was almost like a ghost town. The weather was just gorgeous though. I think October might actually be a great time to vacation there!

Kimberly & Jeff | IFAC Portraits

Kimberly is a great friend of mine and also an AMAZING stylist! (If you're ever looking for a new stylist, she's one of the best in Charlotte... She's at Salon Piper Glen.) Kimberly and her husband, Jeff, also donated to Images for a Cure and we had a great time on our mini-session. I've photographed them before so I knew how much Jeff hates the camera. I think I got some genuine smiles out of him and of course, Kimberly was just beautiful! Here are some of my favorites from the session.

Sweet Olivia | IFAC Portraits

I have almost lost track of the number of times I've gotten to photograph sweet Olivia and each time just gets better and better! Toddlers are so much fun to chase with a camera... I love it! Olivia is only about 2 months younger than my own son which makes it even more fun to see how similar their little toddler nuances are. Here are some of my favorite shots from our Images for a Cure mini-session.

Shelby and Logan | Child Portraits

This was the second time I've had the privilege of photographing the very talented brother-sister duo of Logan and Shelby. These kids are amazingly gifted in cheer leading and gymnastics and were very willing to show off their skills. We had a great time hanging out! Here are some of my favorites from the shoot.
